Iran has been able to further its economic, political and social agenda through this support.

The move to support a local regime by an outsider is usually one that demands lots of boldness. Pro-government militias in Syria have received extensive support from Iran. Iran being Syria ally has been accepted by these militias. This move has eliminated hurdles for Iranian operation within Syrian borders.
