There is Terror of Human Rights in Syria

Numerous and serious human rights violations were reported by the United Nations to happen during the Syrian civil war. The war was reported by the United Nations as that kind of war devoid of compliance to the norms set by the international law, leading to sufferings of civilians that cannot be measured as a result of warring parties.

Both the United Nations and human rights organizations cited the violations of human rights done by both the government and the rebels, with the most of the abuses done by the Syrian government.

Aside from the conduct of torture and extrajudicial killings, the Assad regime was blamed of using chlorine gas as chemical weapons against the civilians. Not only was Assad accused of aerial bombardment and shelling that were not discriminating and were not proportionate, the regime spread terror because of its mass civilian casualties. The Free Syrian Army and other rebel groups were also accused of committing war crimes like the recruitment of children to become soldiers, civilian populated areas being shelled, the use of poison gas, and murder of members of religious minorities and taking hostages.

The bloody conflict of Syria is now on its 3rd year, with painful images of civilians attacked by bombs from the air, different abuses, physical assaults and rape on women, and other atrocities that are beyond words and imaginations that led people to write about what is happening in Syria.

News about the conditions in Syria are considered disheartening, with houses, schools, water systems and so on being reduced to rubble, and with 80,000 Syrians dead among which were thousands of children.

Imagine a refugee camp in Lebanon during the months of winter, with the surroundings covered with snow and people are trying to get warm by going inside boxes and covering themselves with little cloth, and eyes of despair from children staring at you.

In just matters of seconds, homes, lives, careers and everything were lost from women who would tell you of their experiences. Brothers, husbands, and sons were lost in the war according to women, not to mention their trauma after being raped. Peace and nothing else are what these women could wish for, leaving behind their careers and their past happy and peaceful lives.

Iran has considered itself an ally of Syria thus has aided the Syrian government in several aspects. Technical support and personnel support to strengthen Syria were given by the Iranian revolutionary guard during and way back 2011 of the Syrian civil war, aside from sending control equipment during riots, and techniques in monitoring intelligence.
